TONALE PASS 1884M
The Tonale Pass, 1,884 m, is one of the most important Alpine passes in the Alps. It connects the Val di Sole to the east, municipality of Vermiglio, with the Alta Valle Camonica, municipality of Ponte di Legno, to the west. Located on the border between Lombardy, province of Brescia, and Trentino, province of Trento, until 1918 it represented the border between the Kingdom of Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Today it is a popular Alpine tourist resort, appreciated by an international public both during the winter and summer seasons.
At Passo del Tonale during the winter you can enjoy downhill skiing on the over 100km of ski slopes of the Ponte di Legno Tonale ski area, cross-country skiing at the Vermiglio and Ponte di Legno circuits, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and ice skating.
During the summer, there are trekking and excursions along the Great War trails, mountain bike and road bike excursions, and cultural visits to museums and war forts from the last century.
